Leana is a Certified Practising Paediatric Speech Pathologist with more than 20 years experience in her field. Leana is trained as an accredited DIR Model Floortime Provider, is trained in the PROMPT Approach, variety of Feeding/Sensory Approaches, has received her NDT training and has attended many post grad conferences, training and online studying to offer a unique and wholistic approach to all communication difficulties/disorders.
She is a Speech Pathologist with a passion and special interest in working with children that present with Feeding difficulties, Autism, Development Delays, Early Intervention, communication delays/disorders, behaviour and social difficulties.
She believes in a team approach as well as collaborating with professionals sharing her passion for equipping families with practical and fun strategies to empower families with knowledge to support their little people with difficulties within the family circle.
Leana is the mother of two fun-loving boys who have experienced difficulties that has provided Leana with understanding the professional side, but also the practical side of implementing a variety of strategies on a daily basis, to support development, feeding, nourishment, social development and communication.
Leana loves sharing her passion in the form of workshops, seminars and conferences and has presented a variety, during her years of practice. She is excited to join forces with Jarrah Eddy and the unique sharing of information this will bring about!
Jarrah has been a clinical Naturopath and Nutritionist for over 10 years. She has long had an interest in childrens health, gut/immune function and mental health. This has lead her to spend many many hours doing post grad studies in nutritional biochemistry and gut health, to further understand the delicate interplay between them all.
Jarrah worked for many years in an Integrative practice in Sydney for a wonderful paediatrician who specialised in Autistic Spectrum Disorders.
Her love of collaboration has been further inspired through the amazing team of integrative GP's and therapists at Invitation to Health. She is passionate about education and empowerment of parents to help this next generation to thrive.
Jarrah is also a mum of two energetic boys, so knows first hand many of the challenges that comes with keeping her little people well and nourished in this modern world. Her strategies come from a great combination of clinical experience, latest research and real life practical implementation.
Catherine is a registered psychologist who enjoys working with children and families. She has a private practice called Augmentia Health Child and Family Psychologist in Tuggerah. Catherine & the Augmentia Health Team looks forward to collaborating with Kids Spot and working alongside the other Children & Family Specialists. Catherine is passionate about delivering national and international evidence based psychology assessments and therapy that make a difference to the quality of lives of children and their family. Her training and approach is multifaceted with a focus on positive psychology and interventions drawn from neuropsychology and neuropsychotherapy research within a play based approach.
Catherine is qualified to assess for a number of different diagnoses, including Autistic Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Specific Learning Disorders, Learning Disabilities, ODD, Conduct Disorder, and mental health disorders such as anxiety and depression. She offers comprehensive Assessments for IQ, education and learning, behaviour, mental health, and development which include consultations with other health professionals in a team based approach. Catherine's psychological report recommendations are aligned with National Learning Standards and make it easy for classroom teachers and learning support teachers to implement them into an Individual Education Plan (IEP).
She is keenly interested in applied research and program development, having previously published in peer journals and developing children's books about social and emotional skill development. She focuses in the area of neuropsychology and social and emotional learning, and is currently trialling her SMART Fun Program incorporating both of these areas for primary school children from Kindergarten to Year 6. She is also the author of the NeuroTeaching series of professional development for teachers and early childhood educators.
